Every place tells a unique story and often, design works as an eloquent and effective medium to convey this tale. One just has to look at the prominent architecture, the traditional crafting methods and the creative culture that underlines it to get a real grasp of a community and its culture. While a sense of place is a tenet of good design, I’ve noticed that alongside the importance of conserving what’s local, there’s also an evolving language of global style. 1 CLOUDS, KVADRAT French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec created Clouds, a site-specific installation for Danish textile brand Kvadrat at Design Shanghai.
