Women’s Golf is Australia’s ONLY golf magazine dedicated to women golfers. Full of great tips and training ideas, equipment reviews, industry news, course profiles, golf fashion, athlete interviews, golf holidays & much more.
INTRODUCTION THE Australian Summer of Golf is underway and it’s been fantastic to see homegrown golfing stars such as Hannah Green, Minjee Lee, Steph Kyriacou, Grace Kim, Gabi Ruffels, Kirsten Rudgeley and Karis Davidson back in the country. Planning on attending any of the upcoming WPGA events? If so, (and I reckon you should go) why not arrive wearing a fabulous spectator-style ensemble? It’s high time we embraced preppy chic looks with aplomb and statement trends inspired by 70s sports aesthetics. Obviously, sun safety is paramount too – don’t forget accessories like a great hat, sunglasses, and of course, comfortable footwear all in the name of showing support for our sport before the players jet off on their respective tours. It’s also exciting to spot/watch the next generation of golfing…
WHAT an incredible way to kick off the New Year—outdoors, exercising, and in the company of friends. Welcome to the world of golf! In 2024, we joyously celebrate the 20th anniversary of Women’s Golf Magazine. Reflecting on our journey the magazine has undergone several name changes, evolving from Australasian Women’s Golf to Women’s Golf, Ladies Golf, and, in 2022, returning to its roots as Women’s Golf. When I took the helm of this magazine, my vision was to create a publication that deeply resonated with women, especially those new to the sport. I aspired to offer unwavering support to women in golf while spotlighting the next generation. Over the past five years, the Australian golf industry has experienced remarkable growth, exceeded all expectations and is showing no sign of slowing…

THE Buick LPGA Shanghai saw Angel Yin take a huge step forward. Her birdie putt on the first hole in a sudden-death playoff allowed her to edge out World Number One, Lilia Vu, and post the first LPGA victory of her career. The win came in Yin’s 159th LPGA start, but just 12 days past her 25th birthday and her inaugural LPGA victory (she won on the LET in 2017) was part of a trend. Through October 15 there were a record 12 first-time winners on the LPGA Tour this season. Eleven of the 12 were aged 25 or younger when they won, the oldest of the group was 28. All are young enough to be winning golf tournaments for some time. And that’s leaving out the legion of 20-somethings…
NEW pathways to the major tours in women’s golf and increased prize money are the highlights of WPGA Tour of Australasia’s schedule for the first half of 2024. The 15 WPGA events will offer a total of $2.9 million and include two $500,000 tournaments co-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour (LET) – the Women’s NSW Open at Magenta Shores Golf Club and the Australian Women’s Classic at the Bonville Golf Resort at Coffs Harbour. WPGA Tour of Australasia CEO Karen Lunn said having the two co-sanctioned events, where the winners gain automatic LET membership if not already a member, would open up huge career possibilities for the WPGA players. “It’s huge for our players to have two Australian events back on the Ladies European Tour,” she said. “The possibilities these…
EWAN Porter is a busy man indeed. Yet, somehow between commentating at massive golf tournaments, nurturing a legion of juniors globally and scouting fresh talent for college programs, he made time for a chat. Porter’s evolution from professional golfer to on-course event presenter/college recruitment extraordinaire and everything in between is nothing short of impressive. Plus, he is a vocal supporter (quite literally) of women’s golf! What’s not to love… There is so much potential for the women’s professional game to grow over the next decade – we’re already beginning to see it trend in the right direction As the founder of the adidas Junior 6s what achievements are you most proud of? I created the Junior 6s back in 2019 as a way of honouring my father’s legacy. He passed…
