We are pleased to see that many of the mails we receive every day have to do with the launching of new superyachts or the sale of new ones. The main Italian players, and North European shipyards as well have been informing us of the imminent launching of new yachts and have presented numerous future prospects which is clearly indicative of a rising market abreast of evolving technologies. What probably lies ahead is a proliferation of ever more sophisticated yachts from a design view point but even more so from a technical and technological point of view, with futuristic solutions in terms of accrued on board comfort, thanks also to the giant steps specific plants are making in the way of micro and macro systems and parts. Naucrates 85 is the first unit from Ductor’s support vessel series built by Italian shipyard Cheyenne Yacht. The project design work was carried out by Italian Green Yachts studio. This yacht’s silhouette is fairly typical of this kind of vessel which translates into the superstructure being shifted forward in the bow rather like an explorer, so as to leave plenty of space aft of it for several tenders, a motor car and a touch -n-go helipad. Naucrates85 stands out from several others for its versatility, since the area normally occupied by tenders is easily converted into a fully fledged sun deck completed with appropriate standing furniture, sun beds and chaises longue. This coming boating season and the next few look good for Baglietto , in terms of new builds throughout the range. There are currently five new yachts being built, an MV19, a 55 metre displacing motor yacht, two displacing 48 metre ones and a 43 metre Fast. Each one of the five has been carried out by Francesco Paskowski Design in addition to the one presented at the latest Monaco Yacht Show of the V- Line. After having made a considerable come back in 2010 with the launching of “Exuma” a 50 metre from the Vitruvius range designed by Philippe Briand, who also initialled the 55 metre “Galileo G” and the 73 metre “Grace E” which hit the water in 2011 and in 2014, Picchiotti yachts has decided to change design team for a new project design entrusted to Zuccon International Project Roma. A new entry at the brand’s Ancona based shipyard. In fact Ferretti Group’s brand CRN which has been building steel and aluminium motor yachts from 40 to 100 metres for the international yachting market, is currently building the CRN 131 “Cloud 9” with an LOA of 74 metres, which will be presented at the next MYS ( Monaco Yacht Show), together with the 79 metre CRN 135 and the 136 Superconero model measuring 50 metres. The Ancona yard has recently begun construction work on a new 62 metre, designed by Nuvolari Lenard. Enrico Gobbi’s Team for Design studio has carried out project work for King Shark by Arrabito Naval Architects. This is Rossinavi’s new 70 metre: an ice class certified yacht destined to cruise in the most adverse extreme conditions. King Shark has already been sold to a very wealthy and fortunate owner. Construction will take place at Rossinavi’s premises in Viareggio where this renowned shipyard has already built 70 metre High Power III ( which hit the water named Numptia). The new yacht is going to be an Explorer Yacht which will stand out of the chorus line in terms of traditional parameters.
