Among the numerous bits of news that land on our desks from the press, from operators professionally involved in yachting, from the grapevine, in the course of the events and international yacht shows we attend, there are some which spur us on and deserve some thought before drawing our own ideas and conclusions. Cantiere delle Marche has recently sold another yacht an Acciaio 118’ model to a Russian client. This new yacht is the second of the line, the previous one from the Acciaio line was the 105’ model sold just six months ago. Both yachts’ project design work was carried out by Sergio Curolo’s Hydrotec which also developed an explorer model in steel and aluminium featuring a rounded displacing hull equipped with a bulbous bow with a GRT of 350 GTs. The new Acciaio 118’ betters the already appreciated seakeeping qualities of the CDM navette, and is specially efficient in terms of performance and fuel consumption. Floating Life is Series K’s owner which is a line of explorer models ranging from 36 to 45 metres designed with Studio Sculli di Sarzana. After having commissioned the construction of the first K40 to CCN (Cerri Cantieri Navali), Cantiere delle Marche was chosen to build the first K42 which has been scheduled for delivery at the end of 2018. In the aftermath of Europe’s eventful yacht show season, Baglietto is launching a new V-Line, made up of motor yachts between 40 and 55 metres featuring modern vertical bows. The Balducci’s are the proud owners of Gruppo Overmarine which has been obtaining excellent results. The company ranks seventh in terms of the total length of yachts sold with an astounding 771.16 metres. Their order book currently represents 134,200,000 Euro. The forecasted turnover for 2016/2017 is equal to 89,000,000 Euro. The results obtained are proof enough of winning company policies and marketing strategy which entails developing more the first sector, that is the Maxi Open yachts one, which is where the company takes the lion’s share ranking number one. The first quarter of the 2016-2017 season has been an extremely positive one for Azimuth Yachts, this mainly thanks to the sale of large over 80’ units which represent a 27% growth in terms of value. And also thanks to these figures Azimut has decided to invest more into the Azimut Grande line. This superyacht line will be strengthened by a new 35 metre which will become the entire fleet’s new flag ship.
