As a journalist, one of the biggest pleasures in my line of work comes from interviewing newsmakers who are passionate about what they do. This year, we were delighted to team up with the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) on a few projects aimed at celebrating the local design scene. Earlier this year, we had Melvin Tan, president of SIA, join the Tatler Homes Design Awards jury panel for the first time. SUITE SERENITY Spanish company Cosentino has launched C Bath, a new brand that showcases the myriad ways its surfaces can be applied to various bathroom designs. As part of its international designer collaborations, the brand has enlisted notable names around the world, including Ministry of Design founder Colin Seah, to dream up beautiful bathroom concepts. The Singaporean designer has created two unique spaces: The Cave and The Collage, two contrasting designs that draw inspiration from nature in different ways. One successful collaboration often leads to another—that was the case with Snow Globe, a local furniture purveyor which was enlisted by its satisfied clients to provide furnishings for an aesthetics clinic. The Snow Globe team had initially styled and furnished the home of the owners, who soon became repeat customers with this new project. Snow Globe was tasked to pick out furnishings to match the new look of S Aesthetics. The clinic had recently moved to a larger and more central location, and wanted a modern and edgy interior to suit its new branding.
