Welcome to the March issue of American Art Collector! March signifies many things. For us, as spring grows near, it is the month of rebirth, transformation and new beginnings. In the art world it signals the big shows for collectors. We have some major events this month! The Salmagundi Club in New York City hosts its 141st Annual Members Exhibition and sale, featuring nearly 200 works of art, through March 14. Get a sneak peek of the juried pieces beginning on Page 32. We’re proud to say that both American Art Collector and our sister title International Artist are exclusive media sponsors of this event. If you have not been to the historic Salmagundi Club, it is a must see on your collecting tour. If you find yourself in the Southwest,…
Women artists! They are the heart of this issue. In celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s History Month, we bring you our annual Collector’s Focus dedicated to women artists. The ones who decided to be part of this issue certainly are! As the editor of our title dedicated to historic artists, American Fine Art Magazine, I can attest that this phenomenon is not only happening in the contemporary art world. Historic women artists, in particular, are garnering attention (and not just the big names anymore) as museums and…

Hidden Lights offers an immersive experience that challenges perceptions and inspires reflection, showcasing the artist’s latest series in which he explores the dynamic interplay between nature and artifice. “A hallmark of Pisanelli’s artistry lies in his creation of archetypal images,” the gallery notes. “His paintings may initially appear as realistic depictions but gradually unveil layers of metaphorical and mental associations. These works act as conduits for contemplation, inviting viewers to delve into the expressive potential of painting as a medium for analyzing human existence and the multifaceted nature of reality.” The exhibition will be on view through March 15.
