Multi-disciplinary artist Do Ho Suh, who frequently moves between New York, London and Seoul, creates installations and full-size, fabric reconstructions that explore ideas of exploring notions of the concept of home, personal history, collectivity, individuality and cultural tradition. The artist recently gifted his Apartment A, Unit 2, Corridor and Staircase, 348 West 22nd Street installation to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which replicates his ground-floor New York residence. Collectors Cherye R. and James F. Pierce recently gifted more than 260 photographs to the New Orleans Museum of Art. The collection comes from a range of 19th-century to present day master art photographers, including Ansel Adams as well as Lois Conner, William Eggleston and Deborah Luster. The Pierces’ gift to NOMA is representative of their wide-ranging collecting interests, and also includes a rare large-format photogravure of Alfred Stieglitz’s Flatiron Building, among many other works.…
