It’s fitting that my first week as editor of Woman’s Day is in the lead-up to International Women’s Day. I first worked here nearly two decades ago, and the magazine has held a special place in my heart ever since, mainly because of the way we celebrate women. From the Aussie trailblazers (p36) to the strength of Heather Mitchell (p24) and the unbreakable friendship between Ada Nicodemou and Lynne McGranger (p14), there are countless women across the country doing incredible things. If my eight-year-old daughter (or my 10-year-old son for that matter) ends up being half as strong, smart and determined as any of these inspirational women, I’ll be very happy indeed.
