Growing up in England the soaps were my first introduction to Australian life and I remember racing home from school and religiously watching Neighbours and Home And Away back-to-back – my mum knew better than to try to suggest I do my schoolwork instead! My favourite family were the Mangels – RIP Bouncer the dog – and the best storyline of all time was when Harold Bishop got washed out to sea.
