May 9-June 19, 2025 Coeur d’Alene, ID Idaho artist Jessica L. Bryant finds herself looking out over the land near her home and pondering all the people who have walked there in human history. Every patch of earth, she imagines, has been touched by another person. May 21-May 26, 2025 Santa Fe, NM Native Elements, an Indigenous festival and market that will replace the long-standing Native Treasures, will take place over Memorial Day weekend from May 21 through May 26 at the Santa Fe Botanical Gardens, the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, in the Santa Fe Plaza and local galleries. JERRY JORDAN ACQUIRES EARLY WORKS New Mexico painter Jerry Jordan had a rather unique “sold” experience recently in Texas involving his own work. It begins shortly after Jordan and his family quartet of singers stopped touring in the 1970s. Here’s Jordan: “I was on the road singing with my family up until 1978, but then we quit touring and I went back to painting. I had a couple from Nebraska who wanted a painting. They asked how much and I told them $100. They asked I paint them an aspen scene, so I did it. I painted a work called Green Cathedral. When it was done, they drove from Nebraska to my home in Brownfield, Texas. I think they were expecting yellow trees, and these were green. They told me,…

In March, my wife and I took my 10-year-old daughter to New York City. It was part birthday gift and part rite of passage. I promised before we left that I wouldn’t make any art stops unless she wanted to see art. No galleries. No art museums. No studio visits. I wasn’t about to hijack her trip. The one museum we did visit was the American Museum of Natural History on New York’s Upper West Side. May 15-25, 2025 Jackson Hole, WY Exploring archetypes of the American West through a contemporary lens, artists Taryn Boals and Luke Anderson present new work for their dual show at Gallery Wild’s location in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Both artists focus on wildlife subject matter, with Anderson’s work also including landscapes.
