UM: ¿Where did your photography journey begin? Ashland: I was always obsessed with cameras. My dad was into tech so we always had multiple cameras (remember film?), and I sort of became the family photographer by default. The first camera given to me was my Polaroid which I used to document family functions and behind the scenes when I was working in theatre. In my senior year of high school, I was working as a Junior Ambassador for Walt Disney World when I connected with another student named Jasmine who was into photography. Country: United States UM: ¿What do you enjoy most about being a photographer? Ashland: The finished product. The creation and the collaboration with a model is its own unique process, but being locked in a room alone, finding the shot that speaks the loudest, painting with light and color to present the final image. Then you send that image out into the world and hope it is received with love. And that it gives you a few retweets. UM: ¿When did you decide to explore the male figure in your art/photography? I am Ethan Stone. I have a passion for fine-art and the human body. My personal style tends to be a little dark or moody but I try to tell a story with each of my images. Country: United States UM: ¿Where did your photography journey begin? Ethan: As a young man, I always had an appreciation for fine art, especially studies of the human body. I realized early on that I had no real talent for painting or sketching so I turned to the camera and began photographing friends; mostly fashion and life-style themes and then, eventually, nudes. When the first digital cameras came on the scene, I was hooked. Suddenly, every shot did not have to be perfect and you could take as many images as you needed to get what you or the client wanted.
