Letter of the month I can’t stop smiling since reading the story about The Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book (Happy birthday to an icon, AWW, June). It brings back so many happy memories. I purchased that book in 1985 and my children used to love choosing their birthday cakes from it. Historically, communities tended to be geographic, but in the age of digital communication, geography is no longer integral. These days you can’t swing your arms without encountering a group of peeps doing something together, whether it’s online or in the flesh.
