Christmas always comes early at The Weekly. It starts in October when beautifully wrapped boxes of all shapes and sizes begin popping up in the office ready to adorn our TV and magazine sets. Then a haul of handmade decorations arrives courtesy of our clever crafters (you will find instructions in our Christmas issue, on sale December 1). Before long the unmistakable scent of freshly baked gingerbread is wafting from the Test Kitchen (page 160). An inspiration I look forward to purchasing The Weekly each month. I particularly enjoy the wide variety of stories about women and their families, as well as the Handy Hints section. Last month’s coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s death (The ‘Quiet Heart’ of Queen Elizabeth II, AWW, November) was a lovely compilation of photos and stories to celebrate her extraordinary life. Denmark’s Queen Margrethe (above, centre, with the Crown Prince family) has defended her decision to strip four of her grandchildren of their titles, saying other royal houses made similar adjustments.
