DOGS DON’T SEE COLORS.
People once thought that only primates, like monkeys and humans, could see colors. But nearly 40 years ago, scientists discovered that dogs can likely see colors, too—just not as well as people.
“Dogs have fewer cone receptors, or color-detecting cells, in their eyes than humans do,” dog vision expert Freya Mowat says. “Humans see the colors red, green, and blue, but dogs see only blue and a color between red and green.” That means a dog’s sense of color is less vibrant than a human’s.…
