FHM is a monthly publication that give guys what they want. Everything from the most beautiful woman in the world, cars, fitness, food, sport, fashion to tech, gadgets, travel and gaming. If you're a guy, we will have something of interest for you.
It is hard to overstate the impact of three little letters: FHM. Originally founded in 1985 in the UK under the title For Him Magazine, its name was shortened to FHM in 1992, in what would become a stroke of marketing genius. A year later, FHM played masterstroke number two: supplanting covers of balding rockstars with provocative images of beautiful women. The concept for FHM was simple, combining the very best of lifestyle, grooming, cars and sports with lots of women in one magazine. Men’s magazines had previously been divided between fashion titles or lads’ mags, which made FHM an instant sensation on the newsstand. Then came the trifecta: the perfect slogan to tie the whole thing together – “It’s a guy thing” was born. A typical issue might feature…
Hey Julia, congratulations on being one of the first feature girls in the relaunch issue of FHM. How’s it feel? Thanks, and congratulations on the relaunch! I feel so grateful. This year has given me the biggest blessings. What did you love about this photo shoot? This shoot was so special. It was shot on one of the final warm days of autumn, so it was basically our last opportunity to make magic happen at this beautiful beach. We shot until the sun went down and came up with so many fun concepts. Well, you look amazing. When do you feel sexy? I feel sexiest when I’m getting ready to go out somewhere. It’s all about taking the time with yourself to feel and look your best. Also, a tan…
Reports on the death of the affordable mechanical watch are greatly exaggerated – just ask the guys at Panzera. Founded in 2009 by long-time mates Roger Cooper and Andrew Herman, this Aussie brand was created to deliver reliable timepieces without the inflated pricing or middlemen of traditional luxury. In their biggest coup to date, Panzera was recently approached by pilots of the United States Air Force’s Aggressor Squadron to produce a custom timepiece. Commissioned directly by members of the elite squadron – including instructor pilots, commercial aviators and alumni – the collaboration resulted in a bespoke watch crafted to honour their legacy. Built on Panzera’s Flieger 45G pilot watch, the special edition mirrors the precision and resilience demanded by some of the world’s elite combat aviators. “Most brands would spend…
Most hard gainers and bodybuilders aren’t fans of cardio. And to be honest, what’s to like? At one end of the spectrum, it can be an absolute snooze fest, but on the other end – one of the most unpleasant, heart stopping and nausea inducing events of all time. However, while getting strong and jacked may help you look like a badass, if your gas runs out within a couple of minutes of hard work, can you really say you’re a badass? The Mighty Mitochondria All you really need to know is that mitochondria are known as the powerhouse of the cell, responsible for your body’s energy production. As you get older, they decrease in both density and function which has a knock on effect in the body and can…
REVIVING YOUR LOVE FOR EXERCISE We have a genuine love and hate relationship with exercise. We all seem to know the benefits that come with keeping the body active, yet some of us truly enjoy the process and the feeling we’re left with after a workout, while others think of it as a chore, a painful but necessary evil that needs to be done. Most of us lie somewhere in between. We go through ups and downs, periods of high and low activity, excitement and boredom. It really boils down to how much time, energy and motivation is left in the tank at the end of each day. That’s the trap a lot of us fall into. Based on the latest available data, over three in 10 adults aged 18-64…
BALMAIN TIGERS VS CANBERRA RAIDERS Sydney Football Stadium: September 24, 1989 Canberra’s quest for its maiden premiership, coupled with Balmain seeking its first title in 20 years and not wanting back-to-back grand final defeats, suggested the 1989 grand final would be eye-catching. Little did anyone know that it would be described as arguably the best ever rugby league grand final. It was intriguing enough that Balmain had come third and Canberra fourth, with minor premier Souths and the second-placed Penrith not managing any victories in the playoffs. After Cronulla convincingly beat Brisbane in a play-off for fifth, the Tigers and Raiders were the only victorious teams in the remaining five finals before the decider. Balmain required two victories while Canberra needed to win three consecutive do-or-die matches, after winning its…
