TAKING A LEAF from our Tatler friends, let’s find out what keeps the spark alive. Dato’ Sri Jeffrey and Datin Sri Joyce Raymond acknowledge it is the mutual love and respect they have for each other that kept them going over the years. Meanwhile, sparks still fly for inseparable high school sweethearts Shentel and Bobby Ting, who are parents to two little boys. They relish in their adventures together as much as they give each other room to grow, wholeheartedly supporting one another in their respective careers. As for Tunku Datin Myra and Dato’ James Greaves, they make it a point to show their affection towards each other, and being there for the other when one is going through a rough patch. As our September cover couple, doctors Fazliana Abdul…
DUE TO THE demanding nature of their profession —being doctors who also live apart from each other, Farid Razali and Fazliana Abdul Rashid can only meet once a month on weekends. In order to secure this cover shoot itself, we had to notify the couple a few months in advance, to block their on-call schedules and fly back to KL. We are touched that they were willing to sacrifice one day of their precious weekend together just for this interview and photo shoot. I express my gratitude on behalf of our team, Fazliana responds with a wide grin, “It is no trouble at all! It is always exciting to try new things with Farid. I’ve never seen him pose like a model before,” she says teasingly, referring to her husband’s…
KAY TUAN This skilful hair stylist from Centro Hair Salon puts his dexterous hands to good use on the personalities in our expats feature If your home was on fire and you could only grab three things, what would they be? Those three things would be my passport, car keys and tool bag. What’s your personal heaven? Travelling to different countries all year long without a care in the world. What is your weirdest habit? I have the tendency to touch up people’s hair without realising it, even though their hair is in good condition. Given the choice of anyone in the world, who would you have dinner with? Jacky Cheung, because he seems like the type to hear you out if you tell him your problems, and would probably…
ONE SUNDAY MORNING saw over 1,600 UOB Malaysia colleagues with their families and friends, turning up at the annual UOB Heartbeat Run/Walk, which was organised to raise funds and to show their support for a good cause. The successful event amassed a total of RM200,000 this year, for three different charities which had one common denominator: education. HOPE Worldwide Malaysia, Teach for Malaysia and Yayasan Sunbeams Home were all beneficiaries of this charity event—with a goal to help children from challenging socioeconomic backgrounds realise their potential through education. A cheque was presented to the three organisations at Perdana Botanical Gardens in Kuala Lumpur after the event, which featured a 5km family walk and a carnival packed with activities and stage performances to keep everyone entertained. The funds were distributed equally…
