I can’t believe HGTV Magazine is 5 years old! It seems like just yesterday I was sitting in an office with a small but mighty start-up staff, brainstorming all kinds of ways to make a new home magazine. True, plenty of our early ideas ended up on the cutting room floor, but, amazingly, many that debuted in our very first issue, October/November 2011, are still super popular with readers today. Our Fun Decorating and Help Wanted sections, and three columns (“The High/Low List,” “Wow! What Color Is That?” and “How Bad Is It…”) have all been going strong since day one. To finish the look, I topped the chest with vases and hung framed patterned fabric above it. It’s like your cover was transported into my room!” —DEBBIE BRUEGGEMANN, OZARK, MO * Enter our contest!
