The art of the portrait is a time-honored tradition, with some of the most revered works in history being of the genre. Immediately coming to my mind are classics such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Norman Rockwell’s Triple Self-Portrait and John Singer Sargent’s Portrait of Madame X and more contemporary pieces such as Kehinde Wiley’s portrait of President Barack Obama and Mia Bergeron’s birthday self-portraits, to name a few. Realm Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, California, hosts an exhibition featuring Hawaii-born artist Jon Ching’s surreal wildlife art.
