The only charity working with equines in Gaza, West Sussex-based Safe Haven for Donkeys, needs donations to fund its vital work with the donkeys and horses who are providing a lifeline for people in the war zone. Since the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began last October, fuel and vehicles have become scarce and equids are now the main mode of transport, moving people, food, water and other essentials through the area and away from the conflict. Despite injuries from bombs, shrapnel and ill-fitting tack, as well as malnutrition, these donkeys and horses can't stop their work, and this is where the four-person Safe Haven for Donkeys team comes in.
