I got my daughter a playhouse for her birthday. It was an off-the-shelf version I wanted to customise with a striking painted exterior, cute flower box and knock-out stencilled floor. Slow-roasted smashed kūmara with kale furikake MAKES 6 Start this recipe a day ahead. INGREDIENTS 6 medium orange kūmara¾ cup grapeseed oil1 Tbsp sesame oil2 small cloves garlic, crushed1 Tbsp finely grated fresh ginger½ cup Japanese (kewpie) mayonnaise1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chilli paste) KALE FURIKAKE 2 cups torn green kale2 tsp sesame oil¼ cup black and white sesameseeds, toasted1 sheet nori, torn1 tsp chilli flakes1 tsp sea salt flakes1 tsp caster sugar 1 Preheat oven to 200°C.
