MARINA DU TOIT of Bredasdorp is a catering legend in the Overberg area in the Western Cape.
After nine years abroad her son Antonie, a qualified chef, and his wife, Nikki, joined her and now Antoinette Events does functions all over, sometimes for terrifyingly large numbers. They do the works – providing the venue, organising the lighting and furniture, erecting tents, doing the decorating, selecting the wine and preparing the food.
I first met the team at the Bredasdorp fynbos show where they ran the canteen and sold the most delicious griddlecakes.
