TYPES OF TEETH
• Humans have two sets of teeth: 20 primary teeth, also called baby or milk teeth, and 32 permanent or adult teeth.
• Adult teeth develop between ages six and 12, replacing baby teeth, which fall out.
• Children have eight molars, adults have 12. Grown-ups also have eight premolars, which kids don’t have.
• Adults have four types of teeth. Incisors are the eight teeth at the front of the mouth. You use them to takes bites out of your food. Canines are your four sharpest teeth and are used for tearing food. The eight premolars are used for chewing and grinding food, while the 12 molars, which are similar to the premolars but bigger, also grind and chew.
