I simply cannot get over the beggars who direct traffic when the robots are out in my area. Not even thinking of the money they should be collecting, they direct the traffic with such enthusiasm. The excitement on their faces shows how useful they must be feeling at that moment. With no prompting from anyone, they take it upon themselves to help. Early in the morning they display such energy. A prisoner is eligible for parole when half their sentence has been served, says criminal law expert Dr Llewelyn Curlewis. The onus rests on the prisoner to bring an application for parole before the parole board. Various factors need to be taken into account before a hearing can take place. “The board must collect reports from, for example, a social worker, psychologist and the head of the prison. The offender must also get in touch with the victims of his crime before the hearing.” Prison authorities arrange a time and place for victim-offender dialogue, and the session is facilitated by the authorities.
