Believe it or not, it isn’t just the sneezy type of cold you can catch. Apparently watching someone shiver actually triggers a drop in temperature in your body. It even has a name – temperature contagion. This is because seeing others experiencing extreme conditions triggers feelings of empathy, says neuroscientist Dr Neil Harrison from the University of Sussex in the UK.
