Reading about the struggles of the little girl who was kidnapped in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, recently tears at my core (YOU, 5 December). I’ve been living with PTSD after surviving an attack at home three years ago. All her symptoms strike a chord because I’ve lived them too. The trauma she survived is real: the anger, inability to express her feelings and “acting out” are all part of the process.
