In the so-called paleo or prehistoric way of eating there’s no room for refined and processed foods. It also doesn’t include grains, legumes or cane sugar, and dairy is consumed in small quantities. But feel free to eat most fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds, lean meat, fish, chicken, eggs and healthy oils.
WHATTO EAT
All meat (preferably free-range), fish and seafood, eggs, fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and healthy oils (olive, walnut, flaxseed, macadamia, avocado and coconut). Unprocessed whole foods such as fruit and vegetables should be the basis of your diet. Frozen vegetables – without sauces or gravies – are also fine.
WHATTO AVOID
Processed foods and oils, refined sugar (including artificial sweetener), legumes (including peanuts), soy sauce and too much added salt.
