A MAN leaps into the air, effort and concentration etched on his face as he plunges into the long-jump pit. A woman props a shot-put under her chin and prepares to launch the solid metal ball into the air. And a group of athletes line up on the track, facing down the hurdles lined up on the lanes.
These and more form a series of remarkable portraits by photographer Alex Rotas, who captured the passion, drama and sheer joy of older athletes at the recent European Masters Athletics Championships in Denmark.
