THE use of stimulants in sport is nothing new. The ancient Greeks and Romans used mushrooms and strong herbs to improve athletes’ performances. In future anyone can bring a court application to apply for assisted death but each case will be judged on its merits. This ruling won’t necessarily make it easier for others to do the same, legal experts say – the judge was explicit in his ruling that every case would be judged separately.
