If people take out loans with microlenders and can’t repay their debt, debt collection agents go to court to get emolument attachment orders (EAOs), also known as garnishee orders, to get the amounts deducted from the debtor’s pay. Several factors resulted in dire conditions for those who had EAOs against their salaries in the case before Judge Siraj Desai.
