A couple cruising in the Caribbean are missing, presumed dead, after three men who escaped from jail in Grenada allegedly hijacked their catamaran on 19 February. The men then sailed the yacht from Grenada to the neighbouring island of St. Vincent.
The retired couple, Ralph Hendry, 66, and Kathleen Brandel, 70, had sailed from Hampton, Virginia, to Antigua for a Salty Dawg boat rally in November and were spending the rest of the winter sailing in the eastern part of the Caribbean, the Salty Dawg group said.
