Long dry times are a bummer, but blasting soaking-wet hair with heat only lengthens your blow-dry sesh, says Nunzio Saviano, owner of the eponymous salons in New York City and White Plains, New York. A better route: Wrap hair with an absorbent microfiber towel, such as Aquis Lisse Luxe Hair Towel ($30, aquis.com), for 20 minutes. Then comb in a light silicone serum, which slashes drying time; try Garnier Fructis Smooth Blow Dry Anti-Frizz Cream ($5, at drugstores). Brush your hair into a low chignon, tie it with a ribbon-style elastic to pull it smooth…and leave it alone, says Sunnie Brook, a hairstylist for Head & Shoulders.
