I have loved watching The Crown, and in fact I binge-watched the new series in a record two nights. But what is fact and what is fiction? The first three series were before my time, and in some ways it filled in some of my potted history knowledge – I mean the sequence of events, rather than the narrative. But this latest series saw the beginning of the Princess Diana era, a time that many of us will remember, and has caused quite the royal stir. Watching my daughter Tarli take her first steps was a moment I never thought would come. Having been told she’d never walk, I hadn’t even allowed myself to imagine it.
