Global infectious disease rise A large post-COVID global surge in 13 common communicable diseases – including influenza, measles, tuberculosis and whooping cough – has been identified in new data from 60 public health agency organisations. Some 44 countries experienced tenfold increases in infectious diseases compared to pre-pandemic baselines.
