‘I knew right then I was going to take her’ As the tiny ball of fluff walked into the room, I fell in love immediately. Angel, a five-year-old shih tzu, had been rescued earlier that day from her elderly owner in Bow, east London, who simply couldn’t care for her any more. Her hair had been so badly neglected that she couldn’t see out of one eye, her face was practically invisible, and she was badly in need of a bath. Yet when she was brought into our premises at Harmsworth, she wagged her tail and was so happy and excited.
