Strawberry fields forever
It’s funny how things go in phases. Many people who lived through World War Two, used to the seasonal rhythm of home-grown foods, became quite scathing of my generation for blithely expecting to eat strawberries or broccoli at any time of year, flown in from sunnier climes. Yet my children and their contemporaries, with a greater understanding of climate change and the benefits of sustainability, have in turn begun to appreciate the joys of seasonality again.
