Generally, vaping is 20 times less harmful to your health than smoking. However, studies show there are harmful emissions in the vapour, including irritants and carcinogens, though at a much lower level than in conventional cigarettes. My latest novel, Those People, is about bad neighbours – very bad!  Lowland Way is a suburban paradise before Darren and Jodie arrive, but everyone’s peace is shattered with their music, their DIY and the second-hand car business they run from their drive. Reasonable complaints soon escalate into more chilling solutions. I’m interested in putting ordinary people in situations of terrible crisis. So it’s important they feel recognisable. Having said that, some of the characters in the book are pretty unlovable, so I would say they are definitely not based on anyone I know!
