We got our brown spaniel about 11 years ago and almost instantly that mischievous little puppy created a new focal point for our family, giving and inspiring love in equal measure.  Health professionals use dogs for therapy, and Cocoa has undoubtedly been therapeutic for us; she’s a true delight. This pair of William and Mary trefid spoons are dated 1694. They are marked IC over IL and were probably given to celebrate a marriage. These would have been highly prized in the 17th century and owned by a family of means. We sold this pair recently for £2,200 including buyer’s premium.  What a difference a mouse makes to this 1970s oak mantel clock. The clock is supported by two standing elephants. The tiny carved mouse is the trademark of Robert Thompson of Kilburn, North Yorkshire. Robert ‘Mousey’ Thompson began making oak furniture in the 1920s, and the company still produces high-quality items of furniture, always with their trademark mouse. There’s no magic cure for back pain but the solutions are simple – although they’re not always easy to adopt! Problems are often lifestyle related – how we use our backs each day. The biggest issue is that we sit too much – in the wrong position. That, over time, causes problems. Try to move about as much as possible to protect your spine and when you do have to sit, don’t slump. Support your lower back and keep your feet flat on the floor.
