Five years ago, when Janice Horton, then 53, and her husband James announced they’d be selling their family home (and everything in it) to travel the world, most people thought they were crazy.
‘We were met with a lot of eye rolls,’ remembers Janice, from Dumfries in Scotland.
‘Some friends even accused us of having a midlife crisis. They couldn’t believe we would give it all up – the house, the cars, the furniture, even my husband’s business – to live out of a backpack on the other side of the world. Admittedly, it does sound like something you would read in a novel…’
And Janice should know, since 2004, she’s had 12 books published – nearly all in the romantic adventure genre.
