Bee appeal
A summer garden wouldn't be the same without the mesmerising buzzing of bees, but to make your garden appealing to these welcome visitors you need to turn your hand to organic gardening – or at least avoid spraying insecticides when the blossoms are starting to shed petals.

Ladybirds feed on insects, especially aphids, which can ruin your roses. A single ladybird will eat a whopping 5,000 in its lifetime! Lure them with wild flowers, herbs, geraniums and dandelions.
