How we make and use clothes impacts on our environment in all kinds of ways, for example, water use, carbon emissions and waste. But it doesn’t stop there. 1 Clean off some old plimsolls – give the rubber bits a good scrub, take out the laces and pop them in the washing machine. Where I went Karpacz, a town known for its spa and ski resorts in south-western Poland. It’s at the foot of Sniezka, the highest peak of the Karkonosze mountains, and part of the Lower Silesian Vivodeship. What I did We trekked up the mountains. On the way, we visited the Vang stave church – relocated from Norway by King Frederick William IV of Prussia in 1842, this wooden building was originally erected in 13th-century Norway and constructed without using nails.
