Raynaud’s is a blood-vessel disorder which affects around 10 million of us in the UK and produces a sudden reduction in blood flow to the hands and other extremities, which then temporarily turn cold, white and become numb/painful. In extremely cold conditions, this is a normal reaction designed to conserve body heat, but in Raynaud’s it can be triggered by even a mild drop in temperature, as well as by stress, anxiety and other emotional changes. It often starts at a young age, and is slightly more common in women. Where I went Provence, a beautiful region in southeastern France steeped in history. What I did By hiring a car, we were able to tick off everything on our to-do list. We haggled over vintage wares at L’Islesur-la-Sorgue’s antiques market, enjoyed a 10km hike through the vineyards surrounding Mont Ventoux and visited the enchanting Fontaine de Vaucluse. Thank you for the great article on instant cameras and the new age of digital photography (31 December 2016). Long before that revolution happened, I worked as a photographer in London and would spend many long afternoons in the darkroom, soaking the film in chemicals, and watching in amazement as the picture came to life.
