It hardly seems possible that it’s been almost a year since Woman’s Weekly Live! 2014, but as I write this, we’re putting the finishing touches to the plans for our fourth show! We’ll be back at Manchester’s EventCity on 10, 11 and 12 September, with a programme packed with new experiences, inspiration, learning opportunities and fun. One in six women and one in 12 men experience stalking. Stalkers may harass their victims in many ways, from regularly sending flowers and gifts, calling, texting and emailing to damaging property and/or carrying out physical or sexual assaults. They have a duty to treat you safely, and according to best practice – for example, your personal medical conditions and medicines may rule out your preferred treatment. They must also redirect you if they don’t have the necessary expertise or resources – eg, dental problems and hospital-funded services, such as monitoring complex treatments. Also, many practices are inadequately funded and can’t offer longer appointments or extra services such as heart tracings (ECGs) themselves. Where I went… This lively tourist area on the north-east coast of Malta stretches 5km from St Paul’s Bay around Qawra Point to Salina Bay. Tricia Bernal is sitting in the garden that’s been not so much a hobby as a salvation. Last year, I knitted a sausage dog using a knitting kit for knitters aged seven years and above. The result was so ham-fisted that the wannabe woollen dachshund looked more like an arthritic seal than anything remotely capable of going for even imaginary walkies.
