My ‘go-to’ remedy
Ibuprofen. I find it often works better than prescription painkillers. But it can cause indigestion, so if you're prone to this I’d suggest paracetamol. I also find magnesium citrate, 300mg, taken at night, is great for cramps, restless legs, insomnia and period pain.’
My favourite meal
I have to avoid ‘oxalate’, found in potatoes, carrots, chocolate and many other things, as it triggers fibromyalgia flare-ups. My friend makes a wonderful dish of chicken with a lemon juice coating, fried, and served with white rice, white pepper and peas. I’d finish with cherries and vanilla crème brûlée.
