POOR SLEEPING
‘When stress levels go up, it impacts the quantity and quality our sleep,’ says Sammy Margo, author of The Good Sleep Guide (£10.99, Vermilion). ‘When you’re not sleeping properly, this has a knock-on effect on all areas of your life.’
THE FIXES
If you are sleeping in a strange bed, take your favourite pillow.
If your mind is racing and you can’t switch off, try this simple exercise. As you lie in bed, take some deep breaths and concentrate on your breathing. As you breathe in, mentally say, ‘I’m feeling calm, peaceful and serene. I am falling asleep slowly.’
Have snooze food and drinks like bananas, camomile tea, warm milk, honey, oatmeal and almonds.
Top up on supplements: B vitamins, calcium, magnesium and zinc…
