Staying in watching people cooking on TV is the new way to cope with the recession – and now there’s a new show to be hooked on. Food Glorious Food, which starts on 27 Feb, is inspired by TV mogul Simon Cowell’s love of his mum’s roast potatoes (see p15). It’s hosted by Carol Vorderman, with a team of judges who tour the UK for the best recipes – the winning one to be recreated by M&S. Monday A busy weekend in black tie at the BAFTAs with my trademark fur coat pulling focus even from Helen Mirren’s pink barnet! My tears with Piers Piers Morgan’s Life Stories is a sort of modern day This Is Your Life, minus the big red book and people from your past popping up to surprise you. It’s one of my favourite shows so I was honoured – but also terrified – when Piers asked me to do it.
