I was amazed to discover irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) affects one in five of us – 12.5 million people. As one of them, I read with interest Dr Marilyn Glenville’s expert advice on p30. She reveals how symptoms can be improved by food exclusion, which helps identify those that trigger an IBS attack. I now know through this process what I shouldn’t eat, including chilli, red meat, anything wholemeal and the most dreaded of all, humble sweetcorn.
