WARNING SIGNS On Halloween in 1964, Elsie Drucker, 13, was looking at her trick-or-treat spoils at her Long Island, New York home when she noticed two large round tablets. Printed on each was a warning: ‘Poison. Keep away from children and animals.’ Worried that other trick-or-treaters had received the potent pesticide, Elsie’s father called the police. Bloody Mary cocktail sauce with king prawns & mango Emma Rosen from Food Creative shares her take on a dinner party classic SERVES 4 In a stand mixer, whisk 500ml cream until voluminous and soft. Add 200ml tomato ketchup, 3 tbsp mayonnaise, 1 tsp tabasco, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, the juice of ½ a lemon, 1 tbsp brandy and a pinch of white pepper and sea salt. Tweak to suit your own taste.
