This Sunday marks the start of National Carers Week. At some point in our lives, so many of us will be carers for someone we love. I’m sure, for some of you, this is already the case. It’s a huge role to take on, and it often comes with great sacrifice. On average, carers in Australia lose $392,500 in earnings by the time they are 67, and $175,000 in superannuation. With 70 per cent of carers being female, it means women are often, yet again, financially disadvantaged.
