With so much hype around retinol (which is a form of vitamin A) and its amazing properties, it’s hard to know where to start and how to ease it into your skincare routine. “Retinoids are extremely powerful at targeting signs of ageing, acne and hyperpigmentation,” says Dr Sapna Divani-Patel, dermatology doctor at Software. “[However,] if you try and jump up too quickly, you can cause side effects and limit the benefits you get.” WHERE TO START? Sweet & sour tofu Delight your tastebuds with this vegan dish SERVES 2 Coat 500g tender or firm tofu (cut into 2cm dice) in 80g cornflour. In a bowl, mix together 1 tbsp sugar, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 3 tbsp Chinese dark vinegar, 80g tomato sauce, 1 tsp cornflour and 100ml water. Heat a wok over a medium-high heat. Once hot, add 90ml canola oil. Add tofu and pan-fry on both sides until golden and crispy, then take it out. The tofu dice might stick together because of the starch. Just separate them carefully with a spatula or chopsticks when pan-frying. Add 30ml canola oil and 2 cloves finely chopped garlic and stir for 30 secs, then return tofu to the wok and add soy sauce mixture.…
