More than 20 children came and went from Pamela and Michael Bull’s home during their two decades as foster carers.
But as is the way with fostering, when a child moves, there is no expectation for them to remain in touch.
‘It’s been a privilege to give these kids the opportunity’ “I’ve never continued to keep in contact with them once they’ve left our care,” Pamela, 71, tells Woman’s Day. “However, beautifully, over the years, a couple of our kids have contacted us. On New Year’s Eve, I got a text from one young girl, who said, ‘Thank you for being there for me when I needed you.’”
